Happy Father's Day!

As I mentioned in the last post, big changes have been on our horizon for the last couple of months.  Last Thursday, the giant event we had been waiting 40 weeks for . . . our baby's arrival!   We are incredibly thankful and feel tremendously blessed that we now have a perfectly healthy and thriving squirmy little bundle to hold in our arms.  We had a welcome party, our island family, bring us dinner and well wishes last night at our new place and it has been such fun to introduce her to her far away family via skype this afternoon.   Here is daddy on the video call to grandma and Aunt Nancy in Montreal.

Melts my heart!   My love, you are going to be the best dad!  I trust that our next decade as a family will somehow be even more amazing than our journey together as partners over the last.  I would wish you a Happy First Father's Day but I know you have already have had it, I see the joy written all over your handsome face.

Now that I have officially kissed that baby bump/belly goodbye, I'll share these beautiful maternity photos that my dear friend, and new mommy herself, Chanelle took of us just before we passed the golden keys to our beloved Fleur de Lys Villa to the new owners.  Please visit the adorable ontobaby blog to see the full spread!

Wedding Shoot Inspiration Boards

Well Read Rustic Concept Wedding Inspiration

Here are a few lovely little inspiration boards I created for an upcoming project I will be collaborating with brilliant on.  Last November Brilliant welcomed two new members to their team of talented photographers; South African born Chanelle and Craig of Segerius-Bruce Photography.  This couple, who clearly have a penchant for travel, have spent the last dozen years perfecting their craft in the UK and beyond.  Chanelle comes from a freelance retouching and graphic design background, working for such clients as the renowned  Mario Testino.  Their skills speak for themselves when you see their work.  I am thrilled they have packed their bags and moved to the Turks and Caicos Islands and am delighted that we will be working together on upcoming photo shoots, both real and  . . . . well, wonderfully realized until some adoring couple breathes life of their own into them!

Caribbean Boheme Concept Wedding Inspiration
We hope that these shoots will inspire our clients to let their imaginations run wild when it comes to individualizing their weddings.  The Turks and Caicos Islands have so much more beauty and enchantment to offer couples than our stunning beaches and blue water.  We will be highlighting some of these lesser known gems in terms of locations, local flora and fruits, themes and ideas that reveal the many facets of these islands.

Special Announcement

Lovely photos by brilliant

In early December I styled for a photo shoot that I had been conceptualizing since September (literally).  The client; one tough cookie and hard critic.  Yup . . . . ME.

It's pretty much impossible to style AND be the subject simultaneously, but thanks to our brilliant photographer Andy, the ideas and inspirations leapt to life through his lense.

I pulled out my props and set the scene and then promptly laid down on the job while Andy did all the work.  I am sure he enjoyed not having to share his viewfinder with me!

Can't thank him enough, this shoot was loads of laughs.  As I am not a huge fan of posting personal photos, I'll let the readers who have interest head on over to brilliants blog post to see and read more!

Driftwood Wedding

TC Millwork was contracted to design and build a driftwood chuppah for a wedding December 28th at the Grace Bay ClubBrilliant did a gorgeous job of photographing the Tropicaldmc affair, please see all the gorgeousness on their blog; rustic-glam-beach-wedding

This four post arch is constructed of reclaimed wood, large pieces from a Haitian sloop wreckage, as well as curving branches of driftwood.  It may be decorated with a fabric canopy and flowers, as pictured above, or raw as these three images show.

It may also be set as a two post for a simplified look or smaller wedding, or in additional segments to canopy a dinner reception.  A variety of canopies are available in sheer organza, lace, or cotton.

This arch may be rented (installation and strike included) for any wedding or event, please contact us for rates and details!

Fashion Story - Styling Inspiration

Today we wrapped a shoot for  Discover Magazine to accompany an article I have written surrounding the TCI Top Model contest and winners.

Brilliant and I were very fortunate to have a flawless Turks and Caicos day full of sunshine, blue skies, and bright water.

Here are a few of my inspiration boards in preparation of the shoot; runway images from the Top Model contest, saintgeorgefashionhouseThe-House-of-Jeritt, and  inspiration images from the uber amazing trendhunter.

Both designers and our entire production team were beyond pleased with the shoot, we are all very excited to see the images grace the glossy pages of the new issue but won't get too excited as it will not be released until January!

Great job to our beautiful models and our hair and make-up artist Shenique Higgs, whose morning magic lasted all day long, despite 8 wardrobe changes, wind, and sweat!

Wed Day - Stephanie and Andy

Last month I posted about the styling I did for the wedding of stephanie-and-andy and asked readers to stay posted for more pro photos to come from brilliant.  Not only do I have a few photos from their big day, but I also have a teaser from their sail provo boat trip aboard the 52ft Arielle.

There is no better way to enjoy Turks and Caicos azure seas then out on the open water.  What a great way to enjoy the time with family and friends.

Speaking of friends, Stephanie is lucky to have these sweethearts.  Each and every one of them were wonderful to be around.

The private elevated beach at footprints on the beach villa makes a beautiful platform for a wedding.

These floating lily lanterns needed to be photographed at just the right time to get these incredible reflections in the pool.  Nice job Brilliant!

Wed Day- Veena and Litty

While checking on Brilliant's blog for stephanie-and-andy's posting, I ran across this gorgeous recent Turks and Caicos wedding.  Meet Veena and Litty; beautiful couple photographed beautifully in all their wedded bliss by Andy Mann.  They don't call themselves Brilliant for nothing!

Both of the above photos were taken at the stunning coral house, every corner full of lush island inspired allure.

Town and Country Weddings

In July I received a phone call from Stephanie Wu at Town and Country Weddings asking permission to feature one of our wedding photos in an article for the fall issue.   We are so lucky to have our little soiree appearing in such a beautiful magazine.  Look at this incredible bamboo canopy covered tablescape, fab idea for a Turks and Caicos wedding!

When I think of Town and Country publications, "classic" and "elegant" descriptors immediately come to mind.  Who knew that my idea for a "football run" would end up on these pages!  Great job to brilliant for making the moment into a great photo.
